Physician Coding Compliance Auditor and Educator
➢ After training, this position has flexibility to work remotely up to 50% of the time.
➢ Seeking a Physician Coding Liaison for this role which will have system wide responsibility.
➢ Must be experienced in auditing a provider’s medical record documentation to validate the appropriate E/M, procedural and ICD-10 codes in all applicable places of services (Office, Hospital, Outpatient facilities and nursing homes).
➢ The applicant is required to communicate audit findings to providers in a one-on-one or large group setting.
➢ Must be well versed regarding Federal and State coding and documentation guidelines.
Physician Coding Compliance Auditor and Educator Education/Certification/Skills:
- Associates degree from an accredited college required or in lieu of associates degree candidate must meet the minimum experience.
- At least five (5) or more years auditing and compliance experience in an academic physician practice required; or (7) years coding experience in a physician or outpatient coding environment
- At least one of the following coding certifications that must be current and in good standing is required – Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders, Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist – Physician (CCS-P) from the American Health Information Management Association.
