Director of People and Culture – Margate, Florida

The Director of People and Culture will drive strategic planning and recommendations to senior leadership within the organization. They will need to act independently with the ability to implement policies, procedures, and guidelines throughout the organization. Director of People and Culture Necessary Experience:

  • 8-10 years of HR experience
  • 4+ years of HR management experience
  • Experience in Talent Acquisition
  • Experience with employee engagement and retention
  • Experience establishing a business culture
  • Success in creating an inclusive workplace concerning diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience with coaching, counseling, and advisement
  • Understanding of policies, procedures, and guidelines (FL, NY, NJ, WA, NC, SC, MA, MN)
  • Understanding of benefits and unemployment compliance (ACA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEO, etc.)
  • Experience in a contact center or virtual receptionist environment is preferred
  • Experience preparing HR goals and measuring metrics through reporting, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, retention, and achievement and through employee growth and development
  • Experience managing in-office and remote workforces
  • Experience running an internship program (handshake)
  • Experience handling 360-degree feedback and surveys
  • Experience with AI in recruiting and hiring is a plus (Vervoe, Hirevue, others)
  • Experience in the tech or software development industry is a plus

Director of People and Culture Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent
  • Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR) (preferred)
  • SHRM Certified HR Professional (SHRM-CP) (preferred)

Director of People and Culture Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop strategies to identify, recruit and maintain talent
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring processes for all employees by collaborating with management on crafting job descriptions, interviewing, and extending offers
  • Oversee the onboarding and orientation process for all new employees and standardize onboarding expectations, protocols, and procedures for Human Capital Development
  • Identify opportunities for management and employee development and growth
  • Work with teams to identify talent gaps and collaborate to address them
  • Oversee performance management activities including ongoing feedback, regular performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans
  • Identify departmental training needs and evaluate the success of training programs to ensure objectives are meeting compliance
  • Guide management and employees by understanding policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal employment-related laws
  • Assess and advance employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Serve as the contact for all employees, proactively improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity
  • Oversee an inclusive workspace concerning diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Develop and administer a consistent and progressive compensation program including salary surveys and market research to ensure competitiveness within the market
  • Monitor budgets for recruiting, training, and benefits programs
  • Manage all HR administration and provide payroll support to the Finance department

Director of People and Culture Skills Necessary for Success:

  • The ability to manage HRIS platforms is required (Paycom, or equivalent)
  • The ability to manage Applicant Tracking Platforms is required (iCIMS, Greenhouse, Workday, or equivalent)
  • The ability to manage Talent Acquisition Platforms and vendors is required (Indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, Glassdoor, Handshake, etc.)
  • The ability to measure Industry trends and expectations
  • The ability to lead meetings and presentations
  • Experienced in strategic planning and effective communication with senior-level leadership
  • The ability to manage employee engagement, staff recognition, and reward programs is preferred (Assembly experience preferred)
  • Proactiveness, creativity, and coachability
  • Confident and competent decision-making ability
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
