Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing - Surgical Services

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our surgical services team.

Position Overview:

As the Assistant Director of Nursing - Surgical Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the operational and clinical aspects of our surgical services department. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety and contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in developing and implementing strategic goals and objectives for the surgical services department.

- Oversee the daily operations of the surgical services unit, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal patient outcomes, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.

- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care, improve processes, and achieve departmental goals.

- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in surgical services, and integrate them into practice as appropriate.

- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of nursing staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.

- Foster a culture of patient-centered care, emphasizing compassion, dignity, and respect for all patients.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field (Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or Management.

- Current unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing experience, with at least 2 years of leadership experience in surgical services.

- Demonstrated knowledge of surgical services operations, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.

- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to surgical services.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

- Proven track record in driving quality improvement initiatives and achieving positive patient outcomes.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

- Commitment to professional development and staying current with advancements in surgical services.
