Job Description

If you are a Controls Engineering Manager leading a team of software and hardware engineers of PLCs, looking for new challenges, this opportunity is for you. Our client is growing, and desires to hire a leader in Food Processing Equipment NPD controls systems.

Here is a quick synopsis of your new opportunity: Controls Manager
Scheduling controls engineers and controls designers. Lead the technical development of all control systems and HMI. Specifying servomotors, touchscreens, PLCs, and PC based control hardware and software. Works closely with Controls Engineers, Electrical Designers, Project Engineering, manufacturing, drafting, and sales functions.

Oversee, direct, and maintain a department of Engineers and technicians to meet clients' needs. Develops PC and PLC-based control systems for custom-designed continuous process and material handling equipment.
Develops controls platforms for providing control of multiple pieces of equipment and interfacing with customers' networks and ERP systems. Verify control components conform to specifications.
Applies electrical engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve customer control problems (domestic and international). Assist in troubleshooting equipment on-site or remotely.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Experience in managing a diverse group, including hiring new personnel.
Understanding of electrical engineering, Computer knowledge, networking, HMI screen development, Indosoft, or Ignition. One to three years of prior experience in computer systems.
Knowledge of PLC and PC programming, industrial networks, both Allen-Bradley and Siemens programming software, and motion experience skills are a plus.
Willing to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.

Areas Supervised: 4 to 6 Controls Engineers and 3 to 4 Controls Designers.
