Construction Project Manager - NY/NJ/CT - Commercial Foodservice Projects

We have an excellent opportunity for a Construction Project Manager in the Commercial Foodservice Industry. Our client is a fast-growing company looking to expand their contact sales department. We are looking for a highly motivated Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial kitchen installation projects for large construction endeavors. The PM’s goal is to take 100% ownership and will manage projects from contract signing through to final completion and job closeout. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, preparing submittals, coordinating with general contractors, taking field measurements, releasing equipment into production, coordinating FDNY inspections, scheduling start-ups, and working closely with subcontractors and end users to ensure seamless project execution.This position is to be located in the NY/CY/NJ Area and requires frequent travel into NYC. Must be able to commute to job sites and be in the office when not on-site. Occassional travel outside of region to FL, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of commercial kitchen installation projects from start to finish.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with general contractors, designers, owners, and subcontractors to ensure project goals are met.
  • Communication: Coordinate with Operations and Sales teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and delivery.
  • Supervision: Oversee the installation team, ensuring adherence to project timelines, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Field Management: Take field measurements, coordinate FDNY inspections, and schedule start-ups.
  • Safety: Maintain a safe working environment at all times and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Accuracy: Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on-site as required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in commercial construction, preferably with a focus on commercial food service construction.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting construction drawings.
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Certifications: OSHA SST certification required.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to develop effective solutions and plans.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Procore, Outlook, AutoQuotes, and drawing review.
  • Mindset: Proactive, “get it done” attitude.
