PLC Technician Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver prompt, professional service to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair customer technical issues involving robotics, programmable controllers, servos, pneumatics, hydro processing systems, and mechanical presses.
- Ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment is repaired/replaced with a focus on quality for reliable service return, while strictly adhering to safety standards and regulations.
- Utilize your expertise in mechatronics-based systems to implement effective solutions rapidly without compromising quality.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with customers and colleagues, offering progress updates and improvement suggestions.
- Train peers and customer support staff, suggest preventative repairs, and identify improvement opportunities to enhance system uptime.
- Provide onsite installation and startup support at customer facilities, ensuring best-in-class work practices for health and safety.
- Collaborative team environment alongside engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- 40-hour workweek with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
- Required travel for equipment repair at customer sites, estimated at 80%.
PLC Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in reading electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, and in troubleshooting mechatronics-based machines.
- Experience with Rockwell controls and FANUC robotics preferred.
- Basic controls software skills and familiarity with fabrication techniques.
- Outstanding problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to handle heavy equipment and work in demanding environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Plc programming: 3 years (Required)
- Allen-Bradley Control Systems: 3 years (Required)
- HMI and SCADA Systems: 3 years (Required)
- Pneumatic and Hydraulic: 3 years (Required)
