Foodservice E&S Purchasing Agent
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships to support the company's operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- Process purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast purchasing needs.
- Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies with vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely payments and manage procurement budgets.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance the procurement process.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
