Job Summary This position is responsible for overseeing the American Region's supply chain management strategy and driving shareholder value through coordination of regional business supply chain decisions, assessing alternative options, evaluating of inorganic growth (M&A) leverage opportunities, and standardizing best practices within each businesss sourcing functions. Essential Job Functions (Primary duties and responsibilities):
Develop strategies that align supply chain activities with business and cost objectives.
Maintain a high level of understanding of the global supply/demand environment and advise Regional President and staff on decisions and actions for agility and risk mitigation to the enterprise.
Establish within the Regional teams, establish solid functional foundation capable of scaling for organic and inorganic growth:
Functional Capabilities: Strategic Sourcing, Sourcing Operations, Supplier Quality
Resource Leverage: COE (centers of excellence), Inventory Planning strategy
Actively engage in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) process to maximize regional synergy and product platforming
Assure regional teams are cultivating a network of suppliers to ensure enterprise-wide price leverage and materials availability.
Assess and advise the regional team on supply chain issues for new markets and products. May lead or direct major contract negotiations with critical suppliers.
Work with Regional President and team on intercompany supply chain challenges and negotiations.
