Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing for our Surgical Services department. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and performance of our surgical services. You will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in a compassionate and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the surgical services department, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative areas.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to optimize patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and staff productivity.
- Foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and patient-centered care throughout the surgical services department.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other stakeholders to develop and implement best practices and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality measures, and accreditation requirements.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff to maintain a competent and engaged team.
- Monitor and manage the department budget, including resource allocation and cost control.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care coordination.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with physicians, staff, and other key stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in surgical services to drive innovation and enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's degree preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in surgical services or perioperative nursing.
- Demonstrated expertise in surgical services management, including budgeting, staffing, and quality improvement.
- Strong knowledge of surgical practices, procedures, and standards of care.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to surgical services.
