Sales Manager NW OHIO & Michigan

Our client has a full-time sales opportunity for a territory sales manager covering NW Ohio and the State of Michigan. Our client is a highly professional, industry-leading food service equipment distributor and manufacturers’ representative.

Job description:

Must be a self-driven sales professional that is hard working, a creative thinker, organized, and resourceful. Must possess strong organizational, time management, relationship-building, and follow-up skills. A college degree in business is preferred but not required. This home-based position requires day trips to see customers with occasional out-of-town trips. The candidate may live anywhere in the territory. Detroit or Toledo is preferred.

Key responsibilities:

  • Sell core products that range in price from $100 - $25,000.
  • Plan and carry out marketing and sales activities to an existing network of foodservice equipment dealers, regional chain accounts, vending clients, and product specifiers in accordance with our business plans.
  • Maintain and develop a computerized customer and prospect database.
  • Attend trade shows.
  • Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries and leads.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers.
  • Perform customer, market, and competitor research as needed.
  • Conduct product demonstrations with customers and end users to pull products through distribution channels.

Requirements:

  • Capital goods sales experience with the ability to sell on value and product differentiation.
  • Confident, high-energy personality.
  • Strong sales and relationship-building abilities.
  • Must have a winning attitude.
  • Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass drug testing, background check, and Bureau of Motor Vehicles check

Compensation and benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience and ability.
